KING CITY — This year’s Fourth of July Parade grand marshal will be Cliff Williams, who was recently named Veteran of the Year by the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6747.

Williams, the outgoing Post Commander, is a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the military from 1966 to 1969. He was in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968 during the Tet Offensive.

Williams joined the VFW in 1999 and has been a part of the South Monterey County Fire Protection District since its opening in 1976.

Pacific Valley Bank’s annual Fourth of July Parade in King City begins Tuesday, July 4, at 10:30 a.m. The parade route starts at Second Street, runs west along Broadway Street and ends at Mildred Avenue.
