KING CITY — King City High girls basketball program concluded a successful season with a banquet and awards night on March 5 at the school cafeteria.

Players from the Lady Mustangs and Lady Bronco teams celebrated with their families and coaches enjoying a delicious meal provided by La Potranca Restaurant in King City. The Lady Mustangs were 12-2 in the Mission Trail Athletic League and 16-9 overall.

Lady Mustang head coach and assistant coach Jessica Potts introduce their team after dinner and presented them with athletic certificates. Team award were then presented to Megan Flores, Most Valuable Player and All-MTAL first-team medal and certificate; Delaney Carroll, Defensive Player Award and MTAL first-team medal and certificate; Alyssa Richardson, Best Offensive Player and second-team all-league; and Mikayla Davis, Coaches Award.

Flores led the MTAL in rebounding, collecting 338, more than 120 more than the second place rebounding leader. Flores and Carroll were both invited to play the Monterey County Senior All-Star Game that will be played on April 6.

Junior varsity coaches Daniel Morales and assistant Sara Shepard introduced the Lady Bronco team that finished 15-7 overall and 10-2 in the MTAL. Receiving special team awards were: Sarah Brewen, Most Valuable Player; Kayla Silva, Coaches Award; and Jocelyn Garcia, Best Defensive Player.
