Kathleen Gore Thayer, 95 of King City, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 in Soledad at Eden Valley Care Facility. She was born in Pomona, California on September 23, 1922.

Kathleen loved to read, knit and crochet. She worked as a clerk for Sprouse-Reitz in King City. She had the opportunity to take a trip to Japan with her husband, George to visit their son, James and wife Jacke where her son was stationed in the 1960’s.

Her past involvements included participation with Community Baptist Church (couples groups), King City Bible Church where she was an original member at its beginning; a Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scouts Assistant Den Mother.

She is survived by her son, James Thayer and wife Jacke of Poulsbo, Washington; son, Tom Thayer and wife Laura of Salinas, California; grandchildren, Jeffrey Thayer (Natasha), James Thayer (Nicolette), Vanessa Bredl (Bryan), Sarah Smith; great grandchildren, Asia Bredl, Marissa Bredl, Jackson Smith and Owen Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Thayer; daughter, Janet Thayer Jackson; 2 brothers and 1 sister.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to VNA Hospice of Monterey County; Eden Valley Care Facility in Soledad or the King City Bible Church.

A Visitation will be held from 9am to 11am on Friday, January 26, 2018 followed by a Funeral Service at 11am in the Eddington Funeral Services Chapel. Kathleen will be laid to rest in King City District Cemetery.
