Alice M. Mar, longtime resident of King City, passed away at the age of 100 on April 7, 2017 in Coos Bay, Oregon. Alice was born in the year 1916 to parents Young and Yip Shee Mar in Monterey, California.

She lived in King City for 90 years. Alice worked at Mar’s Cafe on Broadway in King City, the family run business, before graduating as valedictorian from King City high school. After high school she worked as a clerk for Judge Tholcke, and later at the Department of Motor Vehicles when it was located on Second Street.

She is survived by her beloved sister, Daisy Mar. Alice also leaves numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by brothers, William, Ed and Davis Mar and sister Clara Mar Senter.

A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 4th, 2017 at Eddington Funeral Services in King City, followed by a reception at St. John’s Catholic Church parish hall.
