KING CITY — Karen Jernigan was elected to the final seat in the King City council election, beating Margarita Irma Lopez by eight votes.
In the final tally, released last Wednesday and certified Monday, Jernigan had 672 votes to 664 for Lopez.
Two other seats were also up for grabs, with Belinda Hendrickson grabbing one with 1,142 votes. Mayor Robert Cullen also retained his council seat, garnering an even 800 votes.
