SAN ARDO — San Ardo boxing Club pro boxer Roman Morales must defend his WBC FECARBOX Super Bantamweight Title before Dec 21, 2012.
Morales won the Title on Sept 21, 2012 in Santa Ynez at the Chumash Casino & Resort. Trainer Rodolfo Tapia said after the fight victory that there was the possibility of a title defense in the New York area in November, but all such plans ended with Superstorm Sandy. Both manager Rick Steve and trainer Tapia said that a California venue was next being considered. The exact venue and opponent should be known in next several days. Trainer Tapia explained on Nov. 25 that Morales continues to train and was training at 126 pounds. The contract weight for the title defense will be 122 pounds. There are pro fight cards in Salinas and Vacaville set for the next three weeks. The Vacaville fight card is set for Dec. 1 and the Salinas fight card is set for Dec 15. There could also be a possible southern California venue. Firm details on the title defense and venue are not known at press time. Stay tuned.
