Rotary Crab Feed gives participants all they can eat

Posted: Wednesday, Nov 21st, 2012

Daisy Chavez/South County Newspapers - King City Rotary members help prepare the crab to be served last Friday during the annual Rotary Crab Feed.

KING CITY — The Annual King City Rotary Crab Feed was a great success again, selling out its tickets with crab to spare.

“It was great and wonderful,” said, Rotary member and event chairwoman Anne Olson. “We didn’t run out of crab this year.”

A few years ago, the Rotary ran out of crab, but that hasn’t been an issue since.

Rotary, with assistance of member Paulette Bumbalough, ordered 625 pounds of crab.

“We have been hearing that the crab was really good,” Olson said. “In the past, we had messy ice, and last year we figured out that we should remove the ice, and it was good.”

Dinner was served by members of the Rotary with assistance from 4-H members and high-school students hoping to fulfill their community service hours.
