King City qualifies for CCS playoffs

KING CITY — The King City Lady Mustangs qualified for the CIF-Central Coast Section Division IV volleyball playoffs, receiving a 10th seed and a game with seventh-seeded Mercy Burlingame today.

The match will take place at Castilleja High School in Palo Alto starting at 7 p.m. The winner will play second-seeded Sacred Heart Prep of Atherton on Saturday at 7 p.m.

“Our girls and coaching staff are very excited about getting into CCS,” said Lady Mustang head coach Wendy Davis. “It came down the wire and a matter of points to determine our making the tournament.”

King City completed the Mission Trail Athletic League season with wins last week over Pacific Grove and Robert Louis Stevenson.
