SAN ARDO — On Nov. 3, Coach Rodolfo Tapia announced that members and friends of the King City PAL Boxing Club and San Ardo Boxing Club joined pro boxer Roman Morales for his weekly run in the hills near San Ardo. The steep terrain that Morales and other boxers work out on is clearly evident in the provided photo. On Nov. 3, Tapia said that members of the San Ardo Boxing Club were invited to box in Fresno on Nov. 17 at the Aleman Boxing Show. The show will be held at the ABF Gym at 1229 N. Sierra Vista Ave. in Fresno starting at 3 p.m. The Aleman Boxing Club website states that there will be 25 amateur bouts on the boxing show card. The event is a USA Boxing-sanctioned event.

Storm damage on the East Coast has caused a change of venue for the November 2012 title defense by Morales. Earlier it was thought that Morales would make a defense of his WBC Fecarbox Super Bantamweight title in New York City on national TV. On Oct. 31, Morales’ manager, Rick Steve, said that he was now looking at a California venue for the first title defense by Morales. This was confirmed on Nov. 3 by trainer Tapia, who said that the title defense will likely take place at a venue here in California on Nov. 24. ...
