KING CITY – This year’s Veteran’s Day commemoration should be on exceptional ceremony going on at the VFW Post 6747 at 599 Bitterwater Road in King City.
The ceremony will kick off on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m., in commemoration of all veterans living and dead.
“We’re keeping to the VFW motto,” said Earl Cauley, chairperson for the event. “Honor the dead by helping the living.”
This year, at 11 a.m., there will be a cannon salute to commemorate the day, along with a Fort Hunter Liggett (FHL) Honor Guard. Guest speakers from FHL will also be present and will keep to the format similar from previous years.
The ceremony, Cauley said, was to celebrate the service to our country by millions of men and women over the course of the nation’s history. Those honored will be people who served in wartime and in times of peace to ensure American’s could retain their freedom. ...
