KING CITY – The last day of the King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture’s Farmers Market finished up a strong run, with the Youth Orchestra Salinas students closing out the day with music and a new vendor committed for next year’s market.
The market kicked off with members of the Youth Orchestra Salinas (YoSal) playing a tune on recorders, followed by the older strings students playing with conductor Steve Ettinger.
“Up until the very last day we got a new vendor,” said Cindi Mora, Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture manager. “This vendor hopes to come next year.”
The new vendor has a license to sell nursery stock, plants and trees, and they are an addition to the market’s vendor who sells fresh flowers.
In comparison with last year’s market, this one has a few stark contrasts, including the location between First and Second Street on Broadway, in front of Moon’s Meats and Deli. ...
