GREENFIELD - The visiting Santa Maria Saints football team surprised the host Greenfield Bruins with 21 unanswered points and then held on for a 29-26 non-league victory.
The Bruins took a 6-0 lead at the 5:30 mark of the first quarter with a four-yard touchdown run by Abraham Lopez. Greenfields’s Angel Natal saw his kick attempt sail wide on the point after attempt. The Bruins looked like they were going to run the Saints out of the stadium in the first quarter as four runners combined for 87 yards.
