On Sept. 6, deputies from the Monterey County Sheriff's Office conducted a vehicle check on a 2000 Buick Lasabre that was parked with two occupants inside in San Lucas. One of the persons, Molina Melchor, 20, exited the vehicle as deputies approached. During the pat down, the subject removed a bag of marijuana and attempted to conceal the marijuana inside a different pocket. He was detained.
On Sept. 8, at approximately 9:56 a.m., King City Police Officers executed a search warrant on a residence located on the 900 Block of Broadway Street at which time Juan Serrano Jimenez, 22, was taken into custody without incident for the murder of Diego Romero, who was shot and killed Sept. 2.
On Sept. 9, Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies and California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officers attempted to take Javier Arturo Godoy, 24, a wanted Parolee, into custody by confronting Godoy at his home in San Lucas. Deputies say that when they approached the door of his home, Godoy exited the house from the side window and ran out. A foot pursuit took place with Godoy running through several homes and through their backyards, including climbing the roof of his own home.
