Mr. Jacobus H. van Keulen, of Lockwood, California, died on September 28, 2013.

Jacobus (Koos) was born in Scheveningen, Holland, but lived his childhood and youth

in Amsterdam. He received his formal education and training in Holland and served

2 mandatory years in the Dutch Army before becoming a proud public accountant.



He moved to California in 1972, became a naturalized citizen, passed the California State Board Examination for Certified Public Accountants, and established two successful accounting firms in San Francisco, California - - an Accounting Corporation and later a CPA Private Practice. He continued a successful practice in Lockwood, California when he moved in 2001 until retirement.



Koos was known to his colleagues as a very committed, competent CPA, friendly, fun loving and hard worker. He loved his profession, enjoyed his work and demonstrated it with accuracy and quality. He was very sociable, outgoing, meticulous, avid reader, dancer, swimmer, biker and traveler during his life.



Survivors include his wife, Dr. Jean E. van Keulen, two step-children, Nichole C. Wofford, LMFT,

MSW and Obak Wofford of Dallas, Texas; three step-grandchildren, Bokeem, Roderick and Brittney; four sisters, Annemieke van Keulen Harris of Amsterdam, Holland/Santa Barbara, California, Liesbeth de Vries-van Keulen, of Vreeland, Holland, one brother GerritJan van Keulen, of Amsterdam, Holland, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters of Holland.



Memorial Services will be on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., at the Simple Tribute, Chapel of the Roses, 3450 El Camino Real, Atascadero, CA. 93422. A reception will immediately follow the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a Memorial, Tribute or General donation in honor of Koos to help fight heart disease and strokes at the American Heart Association, 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame, CA 94010-1795, and/or UC Davis Veterinary Medicine Center for Companion Animal Health (CCAH), One Shields Avenue, Davis, CA 95616, to help improve the health and study of diseases affecting companion animals, e.g., dogs and cats.
