Foreign exchange student presents to Rotary Club

Philippe Vanmarsenille is a student from Belgium visiting King City as part of the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program. His jacket is covered in pins that he made from different beer bottle caps.


KING CITY – Philippe Vanmarsenille is visiting King City for a year as part of the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program. Vanmarsenille arrived in the beginning of August and has been attending King City High School. Earlier this month, he gave a presentation to the King City Rotary Club about his home country of Belgium, as well as some of the things that he has enjoyed about his stay in the United States so far.

Vanmarsenille began with a PowerPoint presentation about his home country's government, sports, food, music and even beer.

“The population of Belgium is 11 million people,” Vanmarsenille said. “So it’s one third of California, approximately.”
