George E. Dickson, Jr., 83, of Greenfield, passed peacefully, at home, accompanied by his wife of 43 years, Kathy, and granddaughter, Madison.
George was born February 23, 1930, in Denver, Colo., and had been a resident of Monterey County for over 14 years, and previously resided in Escalon for over 20 years. He served in the U.S. Marines, and was an executive, inventor, and entrepreneur. He was an avid car collector; he served as judge for 17 years at the Concours D’Elegance, and held the world speed record in 1969, driving a self-designed go-kart. He was founder of Escalon Auto Parts, Escalon Diner, and Clear Tone Bridges Inc. He was a member of Family Christian Center in Greenfield and a 50-year Mason. He was a devout Christian and friend to many. George enjoyed the company of his pets, spending time with family and friends, and was passionate about his love with his wife, Kathy. He will always be remembered and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Dickson, of Greenfield; children, George E. (Theresa) Dickson III of Santa Cruz, Mark Dickson of Santa Cruz, Denise Dickson of Santa Cruz; grandchildren, George E. Dickson IV, Chelsea Dickson, Shaina (Brandon) Clary, Melanie Benites, Jessica Marquez, Nicholas Marquez, Benjamin Marquez, Madison Smith, Bailey McCarten; great grandchildren, LeiLani Vasquez, VivAnn Johnson, Madison Johnson, Owen Johnson, Hunter Clary; mother-in-law, Peggy Trall; aunt, Nell “Bobbie” Millet; and other loving relatives.
A celebration of life was held Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Family Christian Center, 103 Ninth St., Greenfield.
