Bob Levergood passed away peacefully at home in Paso Robles on June 20, 2013. Bob was a decorated retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army. He served in three wars: World War II, Korea and Vietnam. After his retirement from the Army in 1970, Bob was the manager of the Monterey Chamber of Commerce for several years. He and his wife, Evelyn, decided to buy an RV and travel the USA, Canada and Mexico. They did this for many years, before finally settling in Lockwood, where they made great friends and enjoyed the serenity of country living. Bob then worked as a civilian at Fort Hunter Liggett for the Test and Experimentation Command. He and Evelyn got the urge to travel again and did so for a few more years before coming back to Lockwood. In 2007, Bob and Evelyn moved to the Paso Robles area. His very favorite place was the Monterey Bay, which they visited frequently.
Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn; two children, Carol (Ed) McComas and Bob (Judy) Levergood Jr.; grandsons, Eddie (Clare) McComas and Michael (Melissa) Levergood. Bob also leaves four great-grandchildren: Mindi, Chance, Bailee McComas and Austin Levergood. Also surviving is Bobís loving sister, Edna Pittenger, and niece, Suzanne Pittenger-Slear. Bob had many friends who meant so much to him over the years. He is loved so deeply and will be missed so much.
