SOUTH COUNTY — Last Thursday, a panel of three federal judges in rebuke of Gov. Jerry Brown said the state must take immediate steps to release inmates toward compliance with the panel’s 2009 order and that the prison population needs to be reduced to 137.5 percent of capacity.
The California State Sheriffs’ Association disagrees with the court order issued on Thursday ordering the immediate release of prison inmates.
