Dolores Rocha Gonzales, 92, of Greenfield passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013. She was born April 26, 1921 in San Marcos, Texas, to Matias and Angelita Rocha. She was the youngest of 11 children.
Dolores lived in Texas until the late 1940s. She then moved to California and lived in Hanford and Fresno. She eventually settled in Greenfield. She worked in agriculture for many years and was last employed with the County of Monterey Rural Health Project as a social worker for 18 years.
Dolores was a devoted Christian. She enjoyed going to church, reading her bible and singing in the church choir. She loved to cook and bake. She always looked forward to cooking the Thanksgiving meal for her family. She cherished her time spent taking care of her grandchildren. When you came to visit, she made sure you never went away hungry. She really enjoyed dressing up. She always made sure she looked just right before going out. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and aunt.
Dolores is survived by her children, Matias Eloy Vecinais, and wife, Maria Antonia, Frank “Sonny” Rocha and wife Diane; grandchildren, Corina Besenaiz, Rosemary Besenaiz, Erika (Martin) Argueta, Dolores (Jose) Rodriguez, Andrea (Bill) Walter, James Castillo; great grandchildren, Belinda Besenaiz, Martin Alejandro Argueta, Kassandra Bethany Argueta, Eden Argueta, Genevie Marie Patinio, Emma Isabella Rodriguez, Ariel Celeste Rodriguez, Ethan Alston Walter; great-great grandchildren, Jeremiah B. Del Real, Alexia Del Real; her sister, Celia Velasquez and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters, Porfirio Rocha, Gilbert Rocha, Beatrice Mindiola, Aurora Guerrero, Jimmy Rocha, Angelita Nunez, Hortencia Mindiola, Elvira Ramos, Adelina Cuellar.
Evening Services will be held, 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at the Family Christian Center, corner of Ninth and Palm avenues in Greenfield. Additional services will be held, 11 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Family Christian Center, followed by burial at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Greenfield.
