Fort Hunter Liggett gets new leader

Photo by Robert Cullen - Outgoing Command Sgt. Maj. Kevin Newman passes a dress sword to Base Commander Col. Donna Williams during Fort Hunter Liggett’s Change of Responsibility Ceremony on Friday. Newman is retiring. Williams then passed the sword to incoming Command Sgt. Major Tracy Barlogio, pictured on the far left. After Friday’s ceremony, a retirement party was held for Newman at the Hacienda, with many groups attending and presenting Newman with retirement gifts, including the women’s Auxiliary, VFW, and on-base groups such as FMWR (Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation), Child and youth Services, Housing, and the base command group. He was also given a proclamation from the City of King recognizing his retirement and thanking him for his service to the country and his hard work in strengthening the ties between Fort Hunter Liggett and King City.
