KING CITY — The cost for the South County Soccer League to play on King City’s fields is a whole lot cheaper for the next year.
The city council voted last week to reduce fees for youth soccer after coach Juan Acosta brought many of his youth players to the council meeting. Previously, the fee was $20 per hour per field, plus a $20 per day maintenance charge. The new fee is $3.50 per hour per field, plus a $10 per day maintenance charge.
For example, to rent four fields for 12 hours to host a tournament would have cost $1,040 under the old fee schedule, and would cost $208 under the new fee schedule.
The fee reductions passed despite financial concerns expressed by Mayor Rob Cullen.
