GONZALES — The Monterey County civil grand jury said that the financial stability of the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority is questionable and that it would be best if only one waste authority served the entire county.
But the report, one of four interim reports recently released by the grand jury, did not sit well with the SVSWA.
“This report is one-sided and so biased with no objectivity. It is clearly not the whole picture,” said King City mayor Rob Cullen, who has served on the board since 2008. “I know what is going on with Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority intimately because I have served on the board for five years.”
