Maria del Sagrario Perez, 67, of Gonzales, passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Friday, August 30, 2013.
Sagrario was born December 3, 1945, in Chupicuaro, Guanajuato, Mexico and had been a resident of Monterey County for over 30 years. She was very active in the community and was always volunteering her time and resources. She was a founding member of the Franciscan Sorority at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Greenfield, and attending St. Theodore Catholic Church in Gonzales. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gregorio Perez of Gonzales; two daughters, Milagros (Dario) Camargo of Gonzales, Sagrario (Jonathan) Bohorquez of Emeryville; five siblings, Rosalba (Eduardo) Moreno of Chualar, Antonia (Jose) Lopez of Salinas, Bernadita (Ramon) Avila of Salinas, Juan Antonio (Lourdes) Perea of Gonzales, Belem (Sabino) Longoria of Chualar; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos & Belem Perea.
A visitation was Tuesday, September 3, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Greenfield. A funeral Mass is Wednesday, September 4, at 5 p.m. at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Gonzales
Cremation will take place after services.
