City to sell PG&E energy credits-will be transferred for purchase of security cameras, downtown improvement

KING CITY-The City of King will be selling energy credits back to PG&E and use the money to fund security cameras and downtown improvements.
The City Council approved the selling of the energy credits on Nov. 22 as part of the consent agenda.

Churches distribute shoebox gifts

SOUTH COUNTY-South County does it again. 3166 Shoeboxes for underprivileged children left First Baptist Church Monday, Nov. 21. People and churches of King City, Lonoak, Greenfield, Soledad and the surrounding area surpassed their donation last year by about 500 boxes.

Council Oks Waste contract-Rates to go up 16 percent street sweeping added

KING CITY-The City Council unanimously approved the revised Waste Management franchise agreement to begin on Jan. 1.
The agreement includes a provision to implement street sweeping services at a future date. Another change is that USA Waste of California or Waste Management will have a 16 percent rate increase instead of the 24 percent previously considered.
