Bonifacio Ruben Perez, 82, of Soledad passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by family, Saturday, February 16, 2013.
Bonifacio was born June 5, 1930, in Chupicuaro, Guanajuato, Mexico, and had been a resident of Monterey County for well over 50 years. He immigrated to the U.S. while working under the Bracero Program and retired from agriculture after 65 years of dedicated service. He will be greatly missed and remembered by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rebecca Perez of Soledad; 10 children, Rogerio (Estella) Perez of Greenfield, Teresa (Ignacio) Saucedo of Soledad, Pilar (Javier) Gonzalez of Soledad, Esperanza (Bertin) Ramirez of Greenfield, Ruben (Rosa Ysela) Perez of Soledad, Rebecca (Jose) Gomez of Soledad, Manuel (Celia) Perez of Soledad, Rosa Martinez of Bakersfield, Yolanda Cortez of Lexington, Ky.; 33 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; five brothers, one sister; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation is Wednesday, February 20, 2013, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Woodyard Funeral Home, Soledad.
A rosary service will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Woodyard Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 21, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Solitude Catholic Church, Soledad.
Burial at Soledad District Cemetery.
