SAN ARDO — San Ardo Boxing Club pro boxer Roman Morales must defend his WBC FECARBOX Super Bantamweight title within 90 days of winning it on Sept. 21, 2012. Morales won the title when he defeated Jonathan Arrellano at the Chumash Casino & Resort in Santa Ynez. The judges voted 78-72, 77-73, and 78-72 all in favor of Morales after eight rounds of championship title boxing before a live national TV broadcast. Both manager Rick Steve and trainer Rodolfo Tapia said at the time of the title victory on Sept. 21 that they anticipated a title defense in early November in New York City. But Superstorm Sandy changed the search for a title defense date and venue. After the storm, both manager Steve and trainer Tapia said that they are looking for a California title defense venue. At press time a date and venue have not been made public. It is anticipated that a December title defense will be announced in the near future.
