SAN ARDO On Nov. 9, San Ardo Boxing Club coach Rodolfo Tapia announced that Ivan Vasquez, Andy Lopez, Yesenia Martinez and Andrea Aviles would travel to Fresno on Nov. 17 to fight at the Aleman Boxing Show. There will be 23 amateur bouts with the official weigh-ins starting at 10 a.m. followed by the fight card starting at 3 p.m. The gym is located at 1229 North Sierra Ave. The event is a USA Boxing-sanctioned event. Ivan Vasquez has won his last two bouts and is looking to extend his win list. Yesenia Martinez is undefeated as an amateur boxer. Martinez last fought on April 28, 2012 when she won by decision in a three-round amateur bout.

Tapia is also the trainer for San Ardo Boxing Club pro boxer Roman Morales. Tapia said that there is the possibility that Morales will fight in southern California on Nov. 24 to defend his WBC FECARBOX super bantamweight title, which he must defend within 90 days of winning the title on Sept. 21 at the Chumash Casino & Resort in Santa Ynez. Tapia explained that Morales is now in a very fast-paced training camp in San Ardo, where the Champion works out, spars and runs in the nearby hills.
