Aztecs surprise Padres, 47-39

SALINAS — Felicia Villarruel hit some clutch free throws and Kayla Rodriguez added some scoring punch as the Soledad Aztec girls basketball team defeated Mission Trail Athletic League opponent Carmel High in the second round of the Sweet 16 Tournament last Thursday night.

Soledad is 2-3 in preseason play.
