KING CITY-In April the King City Athletic Hall of Fame Committee choose 1993 graduate Mario Mendoza as this year's inductee. This year's ceremonies will be held at half-time of the Mustangs opening football game against Seaside at War Memorial Stadium.There will be a barbecue honoring Mario and his family at 5:30 p.m. at the stadium before the game.

Anaya wins fight in Modesto-King City Boxing Club prepares for bouts on June 4

MODESTO-The King City Boxing Club had two wins and a loss on Saturday, May 21, in Modesto. Axel Anaya won his 125 pound match by unanimous decision, Julio Martinez won by split decision at 104 pounds and Ivan Vasquez lost at 120 split decision.
"All three of my fighters did really well," said King City Bozing Club Coach Rodolfo Tapia.
