MCARLM celebrates Steinbeck

Brock Hill/South County Newspapers - Artifacts from the old Hamilton ranch which were brought in by Robert Grab, including pictures, the original homestead deeds signed by the Hamilton family, and a plank of wood with the initials “JS” carved into it, as well as booklet with commemorative John Steinbeck stamps, were shown at last week’s John Steinbeck lecture at MCARLM.

KING CITY — Last week the Monterey County Agricultural & Rural Life Museum held a lecture celebrating the life of John Steinbeck.

John Steinbeck was born on Feb. 27, 1902, in Salinas. In addition to his well-known history in Salinas and Monterey, Steinbeck also has roots throughout South County.
