SOLEDAD — A bill passed through the U.S. Senate on Dec. 30 promoting Pinnacles National Monument to national park status. The same bill was approved by the House of Representatives in July, and it now only waits for President Obama’s signature to make it official.
“This is enormous for our communities,“ said Pinnacles Partnership (PIPA) Executive Director Mark Paxton. “All of our national parks are recognized globally as a destination point. It will be interesting to be at the Pinnacles and maybe hear five or six languages being spoken.”
